My dad worked in the chemical plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But even without fancy financial degrees, they taught me one thing very well: <strong>save your money<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you grew up with a <em>\u201cmoney in the freezer\u201d<\/em> savings account, you know exactly what I mean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My parents had one rule when I started working summer jobs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cSave half your paycheck. Spend the other half however you want.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the time, I hated it.<br>Looking back\u2026 probably the best financial education I ever got.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fast forward: I went to college, took a leap into a finance degree, fell in love with how money actually works, and somehow ended up doing exactly what younger-me would\u2019ve rolled my eyes at \u2014 <strong>I became a banker.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, I\u2019m a <strong>loan officer at a community bank<\/strong> <strong>and part time CPA<\/strong>. I look at people\u2019s financial lives every single day. I see the good, the bad, and the \u201cdear God how do you sleep at night\u201d budgets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And here\u2019s the moment that finally pushed me to start this blog:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>People genuinely think their car is an investment.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s when I knew we had a problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I kept hearing the same things over and over:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cThey never taught me that in school.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cMy parents didn\u2019t explain this stuff.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cNobody ever told me how this works.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>So I decided to be \u201cnobody.\u201d<br>As in: <strong>nobody ever told me this\u2026 until now.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why does this blog exist?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Money doesn\u2019t need to be confusing.<br>It\u2019s not only for people who love spreadsheets or whisper \u201cRoth IRA\u201d in their sleep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My mission is simple:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Make personal finance actually understandable.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Explain money the way normal people talk.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Teach what school didn\u2019t.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Give you real-world advice you can actually use.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Show you how to make your money work for you \u2014 not the other way around.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re in high school trying to understand credit\u2026<br>In your 20s trying to stop feeling broke\u2026<br>In your 40s wondering if you should buy real estate\u2026<br>Or nearing retirement thinking \u201cI wish I learned this stuff earlier\u201d\u2026<br>This blog is for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why You Should Trust Me?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve been terrible with money before. Spectacularly terrible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I used to spend like my credit card had endorsements. If the paycheck came in, the spending went out \u2014 immediately. No plan. No discipline. Just confidence and ignorance in perfect harmony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now I work in banking. I see real financial situations every single day \u2014 the good, the bad, and the \u201chow are you surviving\u201d kind of bad. I started this blog to break it all down in a way that actually makes sense, without talking to you like a textbook or a finance bro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What You Can Expect?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This first year is filled with topics that affect real people, real lives, and real bank accounts.<br>But don\u2019t worry \u2014 <strong>we\u2019re keeping it brutally honest, friendly, and occasionally funny<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(If I write something that doesn\u2019t make you smirk at least once, I owe you a refund.
